Hank McCoy--the X-Men's Beast--has been working to find a cure for the deadly Legacy Virus that has been sweeping through the world's mutant population. In his quest to find a cure, he and Moira McTaggert, the only human infected by the Legacy Virus, become pawns of Selene, the Black Queen of the New York branch of the Hellfire Club, and Sebastian Shaw, the Hellfire Club's Black King, in their own quest to possess and control the potential cure for the virus.
